Youth Serving Projects
The SPRING service-learning network has partnered with the Collegiate YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh to provide a dynamic community partner for faculty interested in designing service-learning courses that reach K-12 youth.
The Collegiate YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh staff are available to work with faculty to link them with local YMCA centers and programs that are in need of enthusiastic service-learning students. YMCA’s are located through Southwestern PA and have a variety of youth programming to address the mind, body and spirit. Through the YMCA network a variety of service-learning courses can connect to various communities in our region.
The YMCA can also help faculty to find additional youth-serving agencies outside their network in order to best match the academic learning components of a specific course with a relevant community partnership.
