2009 Summer Course Development Institute

New to Service-Learning? Interested in learning how to redesign coursework to integrate this unique teaching method?  If so, please save the date for the 2nd annual  Summer Service-Learning Course Development Institute sponsored by the Southwestern PA Regional Network for the Growth of Service-Learning.

This institute will offer a small cohort of faculty from throughout the region the opportunity to work intensively on redesigning a course with the guidance of faculty-development and service-learning professionals. There is no fee to participate due to generous funding provided by Learn and Serve America and the PA & NY Campus Compacts.

The institute will take place over two days during early summer on May 14, 2009 and June 10, 2009

Thursday, May 14, 2009, 9:00 am- 4:00 pm
Participants will have a month between the first and second session and will be encouraged to select their community partners during this time. Staff from Pittsburgh Cares and the Collegiate YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh will be available to assist faculty seeking community partners. Community partners will be given a copy of the Community Partner Toolkit in preparation for the second session.
