Mini-Grants

This year, SPRING is offering grants to our network institutions to support course mini-grants for faculty members. Our network institutions, Duquesne University, University of Pittsburgh and Waynesburg University will disburse mini-grants to professors who are conducing a service-learning course in the spring 2008, summer 2008, or fall 2008 semesters. Please note, January 5th, 2008 is the deadline to apply for a mini-grant to fund a course that will be taught during the spring 2008 semester. For summer or fall courses, the deadline is March 30th.

The Collegiate YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh Cares are available to help connect faculty members to community organizations willing to partner with service-learning classes.

The mini-grant project is funded by Learn & Serve and PA/NY Campus Compacts. We encourage mini-grants for projects which address the needs of disadvantaged youth in their service component.
