SPRING Service-Learning Network

About

SPRING service-learning was created in 2007 to provide points of support, connection, and resources to the colleges and universities striving to initiate and grow service-learning programs. The funding for this regional network is provided by the Corporation for National and Community Service through the PA & NY Campus Compacts and local support from the Grable Foundation and Forbes Funds.

SPRING envisions a service-learning community in the Southwestern PA region that brings colleagues across agencies and institutions together to create interdisciplinary collaborations that address real community needs in sustainable ways.  Faculty, students, community members and agency staff have the opportunity to interact and learn from one another.  Community-driven research projects led by student teams produce critical data for future initiatives.  Through service-learning, students become engaged citizens who are invested in our region throughout their college careers and well into the rest of their lives.

The network welcomes new member institutions.
